Veneers
Tierney had a great smile, but always hated the spaces in her teeth. Various options were discussed including orthodontics, bonding and porcelain veneers. The option she chose was to whiten her teeth and close the spaces using veneers. Porcelain veneers allow us to create any size, shape and color of tooth, thereby correcting crowding or spaces with the most beautiful restorations possible today. Rather than the significant amount of time and trouble she would have had with braces, Tierney was completed in less than a month with a wonderful result. Again note how natural and lifelike these restorations are.

Veneers
Chipped teeth and uneven edges along the smile line are an excellent indication for porcelain veneers. Veneers require a minimal preparation of the teeth and produce an amazingly lifelike appearance. They are quite strong and form a healthy relationship with the tissues around them.

A severe overbite was causing this patient to continually damage his front teeth. Although orthodontics wasn’t a treatment that he chose to pursue, we were able to do some adjustments to his bite and then rebuild his front teeth with porcelain crowns, which restored his smile’s beauty and also increased the strength of the teeth so that he no longer had concerns about fracturing them.

This patient had broken her front teeth and the repairs were good, but not perfect. Veneers made them perfect.
Teeth-Whitening
Teeth whitening is one of the most exciting things to happen in cosmetic dentistry. Here you see two patients who allowed us to just whiten one arch in order to demonstrate the dramatic difference in color that can be achieved. The patient on the right has whitened just his upper teeth, and the patient on the left has only done his lowers. Of course, we finished whitening the other teeth after the photos were taken, but these pictures clearly show the contrast in a beautiful whitened smile and the original yellowish appearance that the patients had before.
Teeth-Whitening
Large fillings in the front teeth, as well as color discrepancies left this patient dissatisfied with the appearance of her smile. To correct this we whitened her teeth and placed porcelain jacket crowns. The crowns were able to give her an ideal appearance, and with a few weeks of teeth whitening her entire smile became everything she was hoping for.

Esthetic Bonding
Sometimes imperfections in teeth create an cosmetic problem that can easily be repaired with some esthetic bonding for a natural result. Here several teeth had severe fluorosis which was removed and bonding replaced the problem areas. This was blended with his natural enamel to match the surrounding teeth perfectly.

Cosmetic Fillings
Cosmetic Fillings
Although silver fillings have been used for over 100 years, there are some problems that they have always had. Since the filling is a hard metal that doesn’t adhere to tooth structure, large silver fillings create cracks and even fractures in teeth. Another drawback is the unsightly appearance that silver has, creating a gray or dead look. Tooth colored fillings have addressed these concerns with a bonded material that looks and wears like natural teeth. It can be placed like a filling, but will look like your original tooth. The tooth on the left had a failing silver filling that was replaced with an esthetic tooth colored filling.

Digital Imaging
Imaging is an excellent way to view things like space closure or reshaping of teeth to give an idea of what can be done. Questions like, "Will the teeth look too big", or "Will they appear too long" can be addressed by Dr. McKnight before treatment begins.
