Final Esthetic Filling

Although silver fillings have been used for over 100 years, there are some problems that they have always had. Since the filling is a hard metal that doesn’t adhere to tooth structure, large silver fillings create cracks and even fractures in teeth. Another drawback is the unsightly appearance that silver has, creating a gray or dead look. Tooth colored fillings have addressed these concerns with a bonded material that looks and wears like natural teeth. It can be placed like a filling, but will look like your original tooth. The tooth on the left had a failing silver filling that was replaced with an esthetic tooth colored filling.
